Roop’s Cleaners
Jack Roop and wife Vivian started Jack Roop Ltd. on King Street in Truro on November of 1954. In 1979 Roop’s Cleaners Ltd. was incorporated, In October of 1992 the couple purchased Nelson’s Cleaners on Waddell Street in Truro. The purchase of Nelsons enabled Roop’s to enter into the industrial segment of the cleaning business as the major focus was on coverall and uniform rentals. Over the past two decades Roop’s Cleaners has built a mat rental segment and linen service to compliment the uniform rentals which provides service to many commercial outlets across the province. In 2009 sons Andrew and Jack assumed full control of day to day operations.
